How Do I Adjust/Increase My Maximum Valve Temperature?
K-304-** Rite-Temp Valves are easily adjusted. The following explains the adjustment for achieving your maximum hot water temperature.
Notice: The water temperature should never be set above 120°F!
First remove any handles and trim from the wall to expose the cap assembly.
Next, remove the black o-ring, caution tag, and red collar (older models have black collar) from the round brass stem.
Now rotate the valve stem clockwise to turn the water on, and test the water temperature with a thermometer. When the desired maximum water temperature is reached, replace the red (or black) collar on the valve stem, then turn the stem counterclockwise to turn the water off.
Reinstall the caution tag, oring, and your trim.
Note: Adjusting the temperature on the K-8304 valve is done in a similar manner as the K-304; however, the temperature limit stop does not contain a set screw on the K-8304.
